What We're Currently Working On

Leni Keller Workshops in Uyo and Oron

The focus of our work is shifting toward agricultural projects. The Leni Keller workshops are still being used by past graduates, but we did not start a new cohort in 2026. Training sessions as part of the Circular Economy project were held at the Leni Keller workshop in Uyo. We plan to relocate the workshop in Uyo to a smaller but more conveniently located venue open to the public, where it can also serve as a retail space.

Agricultural Cooperatives

The collaboration with agricultural cooperatives run by refugees, which began in 2025, has continued and been expanded. As part of the Circular Economy project, land was leased for agricultural purposes, and chicken farming is being carried out there. The production of fibers from banana stems was tested, and refugees were taught how to extract the fibers and use them to make products. Based on the experience gained, we will then decide whether to continue fiber production. Initial results look promising.

ASA Project on Solar Energy

Together with our Cameroonian partner TeenAlive, we are carrying out a project as part of Engagement Global’s ASA Student Exchange Program aimed at acquiring the know-how to build small off-grid solar systems. The goal is to develop training materials that will enable the construction of such systems to be taught. The target group here is young internally displaced women. The project thus simultaneously serves refugee aid, gender equality, environmental protection—and climate protection in particular—as well as development cooperation. The topic will be further explored in a follow-up project.

Support for Advocacy Activities

We support our partner organizations in carrying out important events and activities, including:

  • World Refugee Day

  • World Mental Health Day

  • Campaigns against gender-based violence

Documentary Film Project

We have launched a project to produce a documentary film about our activities in Nigeria and the historical background of the conflict in Cameroon. Filming is scheduled to take place in Nigeria. Pre-production and post-production are underway in Germany, and the film is scheduled to be screened at various events in Germany starting in 2027.
