TEENALIVE
The TEENALIVE Association was founded in July 2018 by like-minded humanitarian workers. Headquartered in Buea and with a branch office in Bamenda—both located in the conflict zones of Southwest and Northwest Cameroon—it is a nonprofit organization focused on the development of youth, women, and other vulnerable individuals. At TeenAlive, we strive for a just world that promotes the development of youth, women, and other vulnerable individuals. We believe in human development, which is why we help them understand their rights, express themselves with confidence, complete their education, and gain access to jobs or opportunities for self-employment. TeenAlive also believes in providing age-appropriate support for teenagers.
The organization is therefore working to achieve the following goals:
1. Promoting sex education at home and in school among teenagers and preschoolers to prevent teenage pregnancies.
2. Reaching, rehabilitating, and empowering adolescent/single mothers through formal educational institutions, vocational training centers, and involvement in income-generating activities.
3. Raising awareness of HIV/AIDS among young mothers and children.
To achieve these goals, we have broken them down into the following activities:
1. Awareness-raising and outreach campaigns.
2. Livelihoods/economic empowerment.
3. Vocational training
4. Educational support for at-risk youth
5. Psychosocial support
6. Child protection
7. Support for victims of gender-based violence
8. Sex education
